Week One: Survivor: Passamaquoddy
First lets see how things went for…
TEAM PIRANHA: WEEK 1
Team Piranha, affectionately known as Big Blue, decided to take up residence inside of Buoy Store Minnow Mania. Initial reasoning for this was that the queue was dry and would provide ample space to sleep, plus the attraction had minnows which would provide the team with sustenance.
Bonding began immediately as the team spent hours riding and re-riding BSMM, each trying to run up the highest score. The whole team loved the refurbishment that replaced the frat boys with images of Team Sashimi.
Outside of the attraction, roles began to be defined. Lorien, Piranha’s local fishmonger, prepared the fish to be cooked. Hypermommy raided the offices. In them she found a box, some tin foil, and a Luxor lamp with which she created a ingenious cooking device. Meanwhile, April took the left over bones and fashioned team jewelry. Whaleson finally began to take a vested interest in the team, of course this was only after he discovered he lost his charger and his cell phone died. Doc and Whaleson began discussing the finer points of photography and making lists of shots they want to take on their next trip to Passamaquoddy, or whenever they are granted access to the cameras.
Sleeping became an issue as the week wore on. Old Man Tater’s continuous all day and all night berating of the team was causing trouble. Hypermommy, as tired as any of the Piranhas, started saying something about Fish and Chips. Needless to say, Wednesday everyone slept well with a full belly.
Some of the team became concerned as Lorien and Whaleson started flirting with each other. Were they simply playing each other or was this becoming an alliance to be wary of? After a few days, team members brushed it off as two ships passing in the night, and got back to concentrating on how to achieve the high score on BSMM.
We had some real excitement when April choked on a fish bone during dinner. Doc’s courageous and skillful moves with a fishing hook saved April’s life. Lorien, who gutted the fish, and Hypermommy, who cooked the fish, claimed that the bone had slipped through and that it was only an accident. Um.
As Friday morning dawned, or at least when we got up, injuries and cabin fever were beginning to set in. Arms and wrists had become stiff and swollen due to the amount of time the team spent playing Buoy Store Minnow Mania. Specifically, Hypermommy developed a Grumpy-like physique due to her constant playing.
Team Sashimi is lucky the first week’s challenge had nothing to do with arm-wrestling. Elsewhere, Doc developed a twitch, we think due to the continuous playing of “You’ve Got A Clam In Me.” Again showing his ingenuity, he fashioned a makeshift internet radio from Whaleson’s dead cell phone. It only picked up one station which played Beatles music all day every day. This was good for Doc, but unfortunate for the rest of the team. Whaleson, who had never acquired the taste for seafood, and in despair because of the loss of his phone, suggested that he try to sneak out of BSMM and make his way over to Graumann’s Chinese Food for a meal. He promised to return with food for the rest of Team Piranha before they had to leave the attraction. Which he did.
Upon release, Team Piranha came out stronger as a team than they had when they went into Buoy Store Minnow Mania. Big Blue is hungry and ready to take a bite out of Team Sashimi.
