Broken News: Nemo Shake Up
Bad news for our little fishing village. As you all know, our local community theatre has put together a rousing musical production of HOOKING NEMO. It’s a story of a slippery clown fish who spends the story outwitting the poor fisherman up above. There is an eventual happy ending as a local fisherman who needs just one more fish to make his quota, catches the little bugger in his net.
As you remember, the story is also presented in a wonderful musical with such songs as “Big Blue Bobber” and “get with the net”.
But now it seems we’ve had a couple strangers in town who have issues with the ending. I tried to point out that we consider the lucky fisherman the hero. They are flying me down to Orlando Florida to see a similar musical called FINDING NEMO. In the meantime, Hooking Nemo is being closed while we look at this other musical.
We will keep you informed.

I hope Hooking Nemo opens again soon. I have tickets for it this Friday night.
Too bad the show is closing. I went to bed last night singing ‘Down with the Clown’. My favorite song is during the scene where the clown fish hooks a shark to the fishing line to trick the fisherman. When the fisherman shoots the shark point blank with a shotgun and ‘Blowout’ kicks in, I always get a great rush!
Hooking Nemo?
I must be in the wrong theater. Who said anything about fish?
Did I spot Capt. Slippy doing a cameo during the singing of “You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat?”
Lorien,
This Friday is looking pretty bleak… But I understand they are honoring those tickets over at the brillo pad factory. Brillo is the only non-nautical industry that excels from Passamaquoddy. Go check out and see how they are spun…
Jeff W.,
Yes, Slippy made an early appearance. In fact they had to adjust both the pitch and complexity of his song. It was written for a baritone in the original score but had to be lowered 3 steps and limited to one continuous note to compensate for Slippy’s monotone.
Slippy got an oscar for his performance, but it swam away.
Good job, this blog owner always give us the best.
